Foreclosure
Foreclosure is a legal process in which a lender takes possession of a property from a borrower who has failed to make timely mortgage payments. This process begins when the lender files a lawsuit against the borrower and obtains a court order to sell the property to recover the outstanding loan amount. Foreclosure can have severe consequences for the borrower, including the loss of their home and damage to their credit score. Borrowers must communicate with their lenders and explore all available options to avoid foreclosure.
