Reasons for Suspensions

The most common reasons for a suspension to take place include, but are not limited to:

• The law firm’s website is no longer available or cannot be validated;
• An overdue payment or overdue balance;
• A request to close the account has was validated and processed;
• Our Abuse Department validated a request after a complaint;
• Trademark/copyright infringement;
• Consumer Data Privacy & Protection Compliance infringement.

The Lawyers Global^® reserves the right to suspend law firms’ listings without prior notice when security or privacy violation is the main reason. All other suspensions will take place as described on this page.

In case of Overdue payment or Overdue balance and request to remove the listing, The Lawyers Global^® will analyze the process and within six months remove the listing if, and when applicable, and only after the successful payment of the listing removal fee as stated on our Terms of Service & Conditions.

Overdue Payment or Overdue Balance

A law firm is suspended for an “Overdue Payment” or “Overdue Balance” when The Lawyers Global^® did not receive the due payment, after the terms defined in the accepted Terms & Conditions. All charges are to be considered due once posted unless otherwise noted in the account terms. An account suspension notice will be sent to the account in charge person before the suspension. If the overdue payment or overdue balance is not paid within 10 (ten) business days of the suspension, the account will be closed.

How to resolve

The Lawyers Global^® must receive full payment to restore an account that has been suspended for an overdue payment or overdue balance. Payment can be completed by contacting our Commercial Department here or over the phone using the numbers available at our contacts page. Once payment is received, the account will be automatically restored within 1-6 hours of being made current.

Abuse or Terms of Service Breach

In the event that our Abuse Department has identified your account as violating, or breaching the Terms of Service, or Privacy Policy, your law firm will be notified by email via our Support or Commercial Departments prior to suspension. Some common causes of this would be, but not limited to:

• Violating the Terms of Service
• Use of our brand name – The Lawyers Global^®, violating our Brand Limited Use License
• Display unauthorized awards or recommended firm badges on your website, social media, or marketing collaterals that mislead your clients and our visitors or clients.
• Attacking our servers or website.
• Post Testimonials or Reviews by you or your firm employees.

How to resolve

Resolving an abuse situation depends on the nature of the issue. Additional information will be provided to you or your firm by email via our Support or Commercial Departments.

Request to Remove

We may suspend a law firm listing because of a request to remove it by the firm. The suspension occurs on the next day of the account close request date to ensure no further charges will be applied to the account and no dead links persist in keeping our system integrity while the request to close is processed. We will notify all account-related contacts after a request to close the account is submitted, and it is successfully processed.

How to resolve

If you wish to cancel the suspension of your law firm listing or account, please contact our Customer Support as soon as possible via email or phone. Please, once the account has reached suspension, there is no guarantee that this process can be successfully canceled.
