Obscurity is one of the most significant issues your law firm must overcome because if people don't know your business, how do you acquire and close prospective clients?

 

Dominate. Don't compete

"Competition is a good thing." Wrong. That statement is for consumers. It's not for businesses because you want to dominate and not compete. Would you prefer to be the one law firm in the market or among millions? You must aim to dominate your market, not to be a competitor.
 
But to dominate the space, your business must be known and found. People do business with whom they know or can find, not with those they don't know or can't find. Which law firms did not need to rush toward those actions? The ones that dominated their space, independently of their locations, jurisdictions, and size. They have dominated at their scale and didn't get caught in the media-announced armageddon. When others backed up, they progressed and made business decisions to own the space left by those who retracted. Many lateral moves happened by then, while partners and lawyers were being hired by the law firms dominating the space.
